Angela Ritchie

Angela K. Ritchie is a native of Truckee, CA and has been dancing since she was age 11. She has been blessed with opportunities to dance and

train with many individuals, companies, and studios from both national and international backgrounds. In the summer of 2000, Angela participated in The 9th Annual Summer Dance Intensive with the Jose Limon Dance Company in San Jose, CA. She has been an active member of the TMCC and UNR dance departments, and is also grateful to have been a member of In Theory of CPAC. She has performed in numerous seasons of Reno’s annual art festival, ArTown’s Dancing in the Park Series, and most recently had the amazing opportunity to work with Jennie Pitts and her company Four Rooms Dance Collective. She has participated as both performer

and choreographer in a collaborative art project at the Nevada Museum of Art, The Pursuit of Happiness. Since moving to Reno in 2002, Angela has also been a continuous student of both Dr. L. Martina Young and Diane Rugg. Angela danced with Reno’s Wing and A Prayer Dance Company for 6 years under the artistic direction of its founders, Sara Bogard and Deb Smith. In July 2008, Angela was invited to join Bellē Contemporary Dance Company under the artistic and choreographic direction of Cari Cunningham. In the Fall of 2008, Angela was named one of the Nevada

Arts Council’s Artists In Residence for the 2009-2011 term. As always, Angela is enjoying her continued explorations as teacher, choreographer, and being. Angela holds a BGS in Early Childhood Education, Minor in Dance, and an Associates of Science degree in Veterinary Technology.
