Karen L. Smith

Karen L. Smith, percussionist, playwright, director, producer, poet & educator: Originally from Brooklyn NY & migrated to Philadelphia in 1993, Ms. Smith has grown as a well-rounded performing artist. She has written & toured with an original jazz musical, 3 divas 3 & currently workshopping a new play, 57. Karen has two musical groups, Weez the Peeples, a jazz ensemble & Sistahs laying down hands, a collective filled with vocals, dance & drumming. Sistahs will be opened for Al Jarreau & David Sanborn on August 21st @ 7pm at the Dell Music Center. "Possible is Possible".
